What happened: Concert for Change Foundation has set a N500 million target for this year's Green Worship benefit concert, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the MUSON Centre in Lagos. This is a major jump from last year's N55 million raised for five charities.
The funds will support six organisations caring for orphans and children with disabilities across Nigeria: OAKonsult Disabilities Outreach (Ogbomosho), Lokola School for the Deaf and Special Needs, Excellent Child Support Initiative (Ikorodu), Festus Fajemilo Foundation (Abule Egba), AIM Special Children Centre (Kaduna), and Irede Foundation (Lagos).
The concert will feature Nathaniel Bassey, Bob Fitts, Ada Ehi, and other gospel artistes. Admission is free but registration is required. Fundraising continues through the foundation's 21 Days of Giving campaign starting October 11.
Why it matters: Since its founding in 2006 as Worship for Change, the initiative has raised over N210 million, supported 49 charities, and reached more than 8,000 children across Nigeria. This is faith-driven generosity at scale. The model works because it combines worship with measurable impact — verified beneficiaries, tracked funds, and public reporting. Churches and religious organisations are stepping up where government and traditional charity often fall short.
